A lot of people are using cameras on their rides and some are putting out fantastic videos where if they could share how they do it, what programs they use, etc... it would be very helpful.

I personally have major issues with the GoPro software. It crashes my PC every time I try to convert. Just turns the darn thing off. I'm currently searching to find another program to use and info on how to edit, merge clips, and all the tricks.
Just a thought

1] To edit videos captured from your gopro, take the card out of your gopro and connect the card to the pc using a card reader (This is if you're having issues getting to the video files while connecting using your gopro).
2] Move the video files onto your hard-drive (this is because data moving from the card to the computer is too slow and your hard drive is much faster).
3] Once you have moved the files onto your PC, use a video editor.
I usually use Sony Vegas Pro. Others used Adobe. You can also used Microsoft Movie Maker.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/movie-maker#t1=overview

4] edit your videos, put in music.
5] Try to keep your video between 1-3 minutes long. Anything shorter is just a teaser and anything longer people will get distracted and move on.

6. Give it a snazzy title
7. Insert the world famous "Yellow thang" at the start

Added the last two for you seeing that you forgot to mention the most important steps.

I'm trying your video tips tonight. Thanks

I like iMovie. Thats all i use, watch the tutorial.... its pretty quick and then start editing. No probs at all. The only thing that sucks is that if you burn your movie to DVD it wont work unless iTunes is open.

Yep, took me about 10 minutes to figure out iMovie.

i was having issues with the fade timing and putting stills in the video. whenever i put a still in, the video would just freeze. i'm not the only one having issues with this.

otherwise, once i got the hang of it, it wasn't too hard.

i love my mac. i won't touch my company computer. i'd rather remote into it.

Yeah, I switched myself and my entire company to Mac's, iPads and iPhones late last fall.

I'll never go back.

A couple weeks ago I had to do a on-line Flight Instructor Renewal from Jeppesen. I couldn't get it to run on my iMac and had to use the PC my Elite flight simulator runs on (they really need a Mac version). That just re-enforced to me that I made the right move going away from anything PC/windows related.
