The guy that invented the 1UP had a beef with his partner a couple years back and agreed to buy-out. He has since come out with newer and he says better design. It was supposed to be lighter, lockable and even cheaper. It's actually looks super beefy but it's definitely not cheaper. I have no idea if it's lighter. https://quikrstuff.com

I haven't seen the QuikR Mach2 rack in person, but based on their website it does appear to be an improvement on the 1UP. Features that stand out to me include:
- loading ramp (could be nice for heavy ebikes!)
- Release mechanism looks easier to work with (1UP does require some fiddling sometimes)
- Easily expandable to multiple bikes (similar to 1UP)
- Folds up for easy storage (similar to 1UP)

I couldn't find any reviews. Apparently they released the bike rack right as the pandemic hit. I did, however, find this forums post:

Yeah, I was in the 1st batch of "potential buyers" on the wait list that kept getting pushed out further and further. That thread is where I first heard of them. It's obviously too much to go through but as I mentioned above, Cal (the inventor) promised lighter, stronger and CHEAPER. It's definitely not cheaper but have to admit it looks almost bulletproof.

My standard Kuat on the back of a Prius V works just fine. I use a strap from the bike frame to the arm that secures the front wheel as extra security because my rear wheel sits at the very end of the rack rail; the Kenevo has a fairly long wheel base.

Well, looks like I never came back to answer my own question. I bought a 1Up and having been using it a year now, and I think it’s a great rack in every way. They used to be criticized for high price, but it actually cost less than other top of the line racks then. And now there are some ridiculously high priced ones with copycat 1-Up trays, motors and lights and all kinds of gee-whiz-look-at-me-I’m-king-of-the-overlanders bullshit.
