Anyone use a rack that they strongly recommend for or against? I read a number of comparisons online, and am leaning toward the Kuat NV 2.0.

what's unique about an e-bike that it needs a different rack?

They are heavy! Like 45 to 55 pounds!

I use a 1UP rack. It's the HD model and have 1 more add on rack. Carried both bikes to AZ & back last week and it's great. Love that rack and it can handle the weight. Grabs just the tires so no scratching at all and loads in seconds. I usually run around with just 1 bike rack on it that folds up near the bumper but I can open my hatch without lowering it

^^^ Thanks. I definitely like the 1UP. Not carried by some places, don’t know why, and back-ordered into November right now. Which I guess is either a testament to quality or just a lack of manufacturing capacity.

I think you can only order direct from them. It's pretty much ranked the #1 rack by users

Yes, agreed. Saris has a new (and expensive) one called the MTR that is getting great reviews.

  “Boost Mode”

(I’ve totally renounced my principles. Not only did I buy an E-MTB, but I am now using emoticons...YOLO)

^^^ Actually, a couple of the newest MTB racks do offer built-in ramps. I still prefer to carry my bike (of any flavor) inside an SUV, but will order a 1UP for the occasions needing a rack.

Yes, the 1UP is the best rack around. It's sold out because of the explosion of mountain biking due to COVID, same reason all the good bikes are sold out.

The guy that invented the 1UP had a beef with his partner a couple years back and agreed to buy-out. He has since come out with newer and he says better design. It was supposed to be lighter, lockable and even cheaper. It's actually looks super beefy but it's definitely not cheaper. I have no idea if it's lighter. https://quikrstuff.com

One of the best things about the 1UP rack (which I have) is that it very easily folds up and stores in the box that it is shipped in. This makes it really nice to store. Most other hitch racks take up a huge amount of space.

I haven't seen the QuikR Mach2 rack in person, but based on their website it does appear to be an improvement on the 1UP. Features that stand out to me include:
- loading ramp (could be nice for heavy ebikes!)
- Release mechanism looks easier to work with (1UP does require some fiddling sometimes)
- Easily expandable to multiple bikes (similar to 1UP)
- Folds up for easy storage (similar to 1UP)

I couldn't find any reviews. Apparently they released the bike rack right as the pandemic hit. I did, however, find this forums post:
