Sometimes when you're feeling down, you have to ignore the doctors advice to rest, because you know yourself better than he does. An easy ride on my old bike was the best medicine today. Clouds in the sky, dirt under my tires, hawks and kites hovering in the breeze, and a rest with warm granite under my back...just what the soul doctor ordered.

I did the same thing this morning after getting some sad news yesterday -- a ride like that can be the perfect prescription to chase away the blues, at least for a while.

I am sorry to hear you had sad news, and glad that a bike ride helped.
