I guess the simple question here is, if you wanted a civil discussion, make someone feel respected and still listen to your concern, why pick up a handful of mud and toss it...then begin to open your mouth and hope someone cared what came out.

This is supposed to be a community of friends; let's treat each other with more respect. It's what will make or break our community of DT'ers. Not everyone will agree with our decisions; but this child-like name calling in an open forum is just a waste of time. And whether you admit it or not, it makes you look like a douche as well.

Yeah it is all of those things you are right.

Unfortunately the "community" that has been working for years suffers from a giant shit being taken on them with things like this.

So on one hand, sure, I look like a big douche for saying things without a sugar coating. I should have said "Could you please slow down and yield to hikers, the problem the last time they "closed" Cowles was a hiker was hit by a mountain biker and the knee-jerk reaction was to close the trail to bikes and if a few people get their way it will be closed permanently"

On the other hand, someone basically walked in and took a giant shit on my back porch and that has the potential to affect the community as a whole. Basically actions speak much more loudly than words. So while I may have come off like a dick and I apologize, the actions of acting like a dick could permanently affect riding on Cowles for everyone.

maybe im supposed to apologize for my mediocre riding, and taking a big shit on your back yard but i'm just going to have to say go fuck yourself. i'm not one to sit here and debate where i can go fast or not or if my riding is suitable for others. i like to ride mt bikes, not to worry about what others say. so please with all do respect, just stop know or you may get a reaction that you really don't like.

Heh. I'm not a fast rider or a jumper.

Please have respect for others on the trails.

Riders yield to hikers, both yield to equestrians.

While we may not like it, it is common courtesy and it will assist in the long run with improving relations.

Otherwise, it will be just another closed trail, that we're forced to poach.

Thanks for hearing me out, if you like to ride mountain bikes and want to continue to have trail access in San Diego, display respect to other users. This isn't about douchebags vs douchebags because we've both clearly displayed that, this is about maintaining access to trails that are currently on the 'high risk to lose' list.

Good luck with that. I'm off my bike for two weeks because my bike won't fit in the loaner car the dealer gave me.

Hope you have better luck…

If my car isn't back to me by Friday I'm going to buy a trunk mount rack. At least I could go from my GF's house in Scripps to LPQ and get a ride in with that.

Don't think I'd trust it for Hiway or Freeway use though.
