Thank you to 325racer for suggesting this retro-ride. There were rigid bikes, old-school fullies (Proflex), hardtails, brake boosters, u-brakes, canties, bar ends and lots of smiles. Beautiful morning to be out and about being silly on bikes! I flatted and was bailed out with a spare tube (sporting a patch already) and some tire lever-fu (super tight tolerance b/w tire bead and rim) from 325racers Dad. Also, took advantage of his sweet frame pump (mounted to his fork) as the spare had a slow leak and I needed to top off the air a couple of times. Ran into some peeps 325racer knew while we rested in the shade of the oak tree, with the bench, on the Piedras Pintadas trail. Our five grew to eight for a bit; but I'm not sure where the others peeled off... Here's a pic of 325racer and Dad scoping the line down the rock garden at the end of the Piedras Pintadas trail. |

Good ride It was great to get the ProFlex back onto the trail. Tuckered me out.. in a good way. Thanks Matt for hosting the ride. |

Thanks for coming. Hope we can get more people to come next time around. I'm thinking making it a twice a year thing to bring out the old bikes. i was going to share photos, but Photobucket no longer supports embeded photos unless you pay them..... |
