I'm posting this as sort of a public service announcement. If you're riding Calavera on Sunday you may wish to avoid this group, resulting in you and them both having more fun. On the other hand, if you do see them, being extra courteous will be good for the image of local mountain bikers. This hike is a Preserve Calavera event, and we actually owe those influential folks some thanks for their vigorous fight against development of Calavera.

"Feb 8 Sun 10 – 12 AM Birding Hike at Lake Calavera

Local birding expert will lead this 2 mile hike around Lake Calavera. This time of year we are likely to see several migratory species in addition to the native species that call this area home. Meet at the gate on the driveway to the Lake Calavera dam on Tamarack near Strata in Carlsbad. There are about 8 parking spaces on Tamarack. If full, park in the residential neighborhood along Strata. Bring binoculars and wear good hiking shoes. Space limited."
