I'm riding my local 'hood loop this Saturday. I wouldn't call it a "destination" ride by any stretch, but if you're in the mood for something different, here ya go.

It'll be around 15 miles and I'm not sure about the climbing--there's some, but not too bad. I'm actually gonna bring the GPS to map it all out. It won't include any of Sean/GP Pilot's "Tour de Falls" stuff or the stuff heading out towards Julian, but still fun. I'm also going to take lot's of pics, as I haven't gotten much of it on film.

I've taken a few people on this loop and they've all enjoyed it. Evdog was the latest, he can chime in if he wants. He said he liked it a lot.

Post up here if you're interested and I'll PM directions to my casa.

Put me down as a maybe for Saturday. I've wanted to ride the Ramona trails for a while now, and I left my phone at home yesterday while spending time with family so I missed your text and PM.

What time are you planning on riding on Saturday? Morning is better for me for what that's worth...

Sorry to hear about the other thing by the way, major bummer. But I understand.

I'm not sure if I'm riding Saturday or Sunday yet. I'm in if my Saturday is clear.

Sweet!! I'm stoked there's a few of you interested.

Just to clarify--the route is not really a "trail system" per say. We use horse trails, easements and some open space preserve trails. There's a lot of singletrack and I've only encountered horses once or twice. The "horse trails" are mostly singletrack and are actually in pretty good shape.

Besides the fact it is literally right out my front door, I like it because it's a mix of so many different types of trail: single track, fire road, double track. Hard pack, loose and chunky. Rolling, flat and climbing. Riding under canopy and riding with no shade for quite awhile.

The only caveat is that because I'm leading--you all have to wait on my slow, fat ass!!  However, I believe Sean/GP Pilot is in and he can lead out front for a faster pace while my fat ass "sweeps". I'll just have to lead on a few sections he's never done before.

Post up Friday if you are in for sure and I'll PM directions to my casa Friday night.

I'm officially in. Sounds like a fun group.

I hope all of you "maybes" can make it, I've wanted to ride with several of you for a while and haven't had a chance.

Also, I know Ramona isn't that far, but if anyone wants to carpool from RB, let me know.

-James

PS: Doug, my secretary doesn't read my MTB blogs for me, but I'll have to look into that...it could make me more productive at work if she's keeping up to date on the ride calendar while I actually get stuff done...

Umm, yaaaa. I'll let you and GoatP Pilot lead the group up that whilst I twiddle my thumbs down at the gate.
