^^^ Thanks for the encouragement Canaan... you are undoubtedly quite right.
And, you're making it darn hard for me to continue to whimper.
We'll see...

@ mrgiant - you're right, and I often do, because that spot is fully sanctioned by the AARP!

I'm not as nice as Canaan!
Don't hijack the thread with this self pity bullshit, I have no tolerance for it; my fucking ear aches, how bad can 10 miles hurt? You're in or youre out; we'll see, is when time don't permit one to commit; this attitude will have people ride you into the ground brother, don't show up like a lamb when lions, rastafari, are out to feed. See you at the start, from one AARP to the other

How long is the ride gonna take? I've got to be in Escondido by 2, so I need to be home by like 12:30 at the latest.

Is always hard to know for sure on a group ride, flats, mechanicals, skill levels, all can delay the rides but this one won't be that long like I said.
Assuming we start by 8:00 am we should be done by noon or before.

Hmmm, I recall icy fire roads and dead ends. That's all I'm saying.
