Hey... this one is in my neck-of-the-woods!
I'm thinking it would be nice to meet and ride with you characters...
'cause if I haven't annoyed you enough on-line, I'm sure to succeed in-person.

I usually ride Sweetwater from and around the Steel Bridge side and I've not been up to rockhouse yet, mostly due to the fact that AARP actually makes deliveries to my house.
So, I have the much the same considerations as ODD, and I'd ask Baja if the climb is steep or gradual and whether he would be willing to give-up back-of-the-pack honors. Dirty Harry said "A man's got to know his limitations"... I try to live by this wisdom.

I am going to Disneyland this weekend, thanks for the invite btw. But I already informed the king of southbay for a guided tour for your awesome group. He replied:

What time? Is kind of early to know for sure but I might be up for it.

Please bring a cold Pepsi or Coke for Baja.

I always miss the Rock House guided tours dammit. I guess I'll see you at D-land Jason. I'll be there too.

RockHouse is steep, rocky and 20+ switchbacks or so and that's the beauty of it. As long as you are willing to give it a good try is worth it and there is no shame if we have to walk a bit, we all do it at one point. ;)

Baja, I'm seeing routes listed from about 8 mi/1400' to about 18 mi/2500'. Which end of that range will we be closer to?

Or they can climb up to rock house and come back down the same way. It's 1.5 miles or so up approx 800ft gain. U, well I, can hike a bike up in 45min or so. And down in about 10-15min depending on climbers.

Terin, no problem, the ride was short, but it was fun.

You can handle it. My first DT ride was at Rockhouse when I was a newb. Baja was the tour guide on that ride, too. I put the "only as fast as the slowest rider" promise to the test, and he passed with flying colors.
