^^^ Awesome, thanks. I've actually ridden just about every one of these trails at least a couple times, but I just want to make sure I don't miss anything. I haven't done the Bonnie & Clyde stuff though. It looked to me like mostly a dirt road loop - is that right, or is there some singletrack on that portion? EDIT: Reading the flyer, I see it does say there's some singletrack mixed in there. Now I remember every Thanksgiving I go, there's a massive 50-mile horse ride event going on. I was at the lookout point of the Bonnie & Clyde area and saw about 20 horses coming up and decided not to explore down that valley. If that event's going on again, I may have to pass on it. |

Allright so here are the the rest of the pics that I have from this trip. We really didn't take a whole lot of pics, as we were out there for us and not you guys. Send me a paycheck next time and the outcome might be different. A few from the top of Bootleg... Me: Bentmywookie: BK: And the start box with Lake Mead in the background: Rachel: Yours truely: And a large roll just off the top. Trust me it looks wayyyyyy easier in these pics than in person. Tara says "maybe next time" Next up is a little drop. Tara wasn't feeling it either... But you know I was... That was it for the Bootleg pics, unless Tara has some which I think she might, not sure. Here's a few at the bottom: Then on sunday on our way home Rachel and I decided to do a little sight seeing and check in with the Old Man and Chumlee. It was a fun trip. I don't know about camping at Bootleg when you can get a room in Vegas for ~$30... but I'd like go back and spend some more time there. And all I gotta say is odd man out shuttling here is the only way to go... |

Yeah... that still doesn't look easy to me, even in pictures. QuietStorm wrote: And a large roll just off the top. Trust me it looks wayyyyyy easier in these pics than in person.

I'm just hoping you got some pics of Boneshaker. You are our only hope for pics of that line. |

Most of my pictures are the same as the others, but here are some of my pictures. I took more pictures at the Late Night and Cowboy Trails as it was much more scenic. The XC trails at Bootleg were definitely fast and flowy... too much fun to stop and take pictures. The more difficult trail was, well... difficult enough that I didn't want to focus on picture taking. I wanted to focus on staying alive. Haha. For Cowboy Trails, we were losing daylight fast, so there wasn't too much time to take pictures after the overlook... so no real pictures of Boneshaker other than this one. Can you see the rider? Yeah, hard to find, just like the trail (which is why I lost it at one point. Good thing I brought my light in my pack). More pix from Late Night/Red Rock Canyon/Cowboy Trails. Just a sliver of sunshine Sorry, couldn't pick just one landscape shot. They're all too pretty. The Cowboy Trails are littered with these rock gardens (about every 10 feet or something) throughout the entire climb. The penalty for failure is all that cactus to the right (which I almost fell into) Of course I had to take a picture for myself at the overlook How nuts is this shot? |

Bootleg pix This is on our way to the POW trail, which was incredibly flowy and roller-coastery... you could really haul ass through this trail. The climb to it wasn't too bad since it was a lot of fun up and down. Only wirk, rachel, and I did this trail. Me and my egg-looking helmet Just one of the many drops/rollers on Sidewinder (I think that's what it was called) At the skills park at the bottom of Bootleg. It had gaps, jumps, teeter totters, and skinnies. They also had a "Rolled Taco"-like stunt, but skinnier and steeper (sorry, no picture of that). Just checking it out... Will I do it? Of course. I chickened out on Sidewinder, so I at least had to do this A little home w/chimney at the bottom of the mountain There are more pictures of Bootleg here, though not much different from what's pictured above. I was having too much fun to stop and take pictures. http://picasaweb.google.com/t.lucille/BootlegCanyon_11142009?authkey=Gv1sRgCOnz1or7hK-_Qg&feat=directlink Also more pictures here of Late Night/Cowboy Trails. http://picasaweb.google.com/t.lucille/LateNightTrailCowboyTrails_11122009?authkey=Gv1sRgCLev3-CTs7OVtwE&feat=directlink |
