We had two shuttles planned for this day. With big drops and some long distances to shuttle the logistics were a bit difficult. Shops in the area will help for about $20/head but fortunately GP brought his new moto.

Blowhard was first up

So named, presumably because it can get very windy up top! This was one of the only trails where we encountered other riders. But only two of them....

Setting up

Taste of whats to come

The first part of the trail features a mile at ~22% grade
Image

Steep it was

More teasing...

Finally we get to an overlook. What a view!

The highest point you can see in the middle is where we started from on Day 1, above Brian Head.

If I ever sell my bike this is the pic I will use

Who could resist?

And why not be creative?

Bunker Creek was up next.

This one was a bit more complicated as a shuttle because of the driving distance to the end at Panguitch lake, and as the ride starts up at Brian Head peak (same place as Day 1 again, and that high point I mentioned in the view pic from Blowhard).

We had some time to kill at the bottom of Brian Head so some of us lay down and stared at the sky...
Image

What's that overhead?
Image

Oh, just QS sessioning the bottom jump at the ski hill again

But soon it was off to ride. It was $10ea for a ride up the chairlift or $10ea for a ride up in a shuttle. The chairlift was cold and windy and required a traverse around to the trailhead so the shuttle was a unanimous choice.

A lot of flat ground to cover before we got to Bunker Cr.
Image

The first mile or so was a repeat of what we rode on day 1. But not as taxing this time as we were starting to get used to the altitude (a little)
Image

Image

As with everywhere here there were cool views everywhere you looked

Is that poo on your tire?

We rode over a ridge and saddle before the trail started to drop
Image

Wide open spaces
Image

And more fast flowy singletrack

To another overlook

After this we got to a point where Bunker Cr forks. One is a green beach cruiser run, and the other is a black diamond descent. Needless to say we took the latter. Let the lack of pics from it tell you how good it was...no one was stopping for any reason (except to let your hands recover!). Many voted this as their favorite trail of the trip, specifically due to this section - faster, flowier, greener, and sweeter than anything else we had ridden to date.

The end

Except for a bit of (still fun) dirt road to the Burger Barn at the highway

There are no calories above 8000 ft!
Image

On the way back to Cedar City we stopped at another overlook to check out the evening view. Simply outstanding:

And in case anyones keeping score, yes I am too lazy to stitch these into a panoramic!
