For this days ride, Damifino would be on the menu. It is too fun a trail not to ride. We parked at the trailhead on Schnebly Hill road where the pavement ends, and peddled up the road to the Cow pies trailhead. It is over 2.5mi and makes a good warmup, but after 6 days of riding I was planning to take it easy on the climb.

Gman and 406 were waiting for me at the trailhead

Riding the ledge over to the saddle

Thats definitely a dab

Gman gets a pic of me rolling

Gman likes the off-camber stuff
Image

As does 406

Passing a big patch of cacti

Over to the next ledge section

Gman makes a valiant effort and was fortunate enough to have his 5-10s on

More off camber

A sad occasion...this is the last picture even taken by my trusty camera. It froze with the lens out and would not retract ....RIP Canon sd1000!

Looking up at where we'll be shortly (pic by Gman)

Awww..... (pic by Gman). I'm pretty sure this was a circle last year...

Both 406 and Gman offered their cameras to me so I would not go thru withdrawal.

406 momentarily distracted by the view

Gman rides toward the end of the ridge

But stops briefly for another pic

Before riding on

We cross as far as we could up high then realize we had crossed too far
Image

406 goes back and tries a line he'd spotted
Image

406 finds a nice photo op at the bottom of the rock

Cruising the ledge to get to it

and...dropping
Image

On to the steep bottom part of damifino
Image

406 makes it despite long turning radius
Image

And then onto the trail's final steep
Image

Some members of last year's trip are wishing we had known about this bridge at the time, only 100 feet upstream of where damifino dumps out.
Image

We take a break at Grasshopper Pt overlooking Oak Creek
Image

Starting off for more, we will continue across 89A to Wilson Tr
Image

406: we're going that way
Image

We eventually get onto Jordan trail, which was rolling and fun with some really challenging sections to climb

Rock bathed in late afternoon sun

I stopped for one more pano...the pic really doesn't do justice how pretty this was

We had a fair road pedal back to Schnebly Hill road and got back just as the sun set. After changing and downing a beer, we were off for more hot tub action and dinner. Another awesome day of riding in Sedona. Damifino and hangover have got to be 2 of my favorite trails anywhere. And the Wilson to __ to Jordan route we took after is much more fun than taking Huckaby trail back, and offers much greater chance for connecting to the rest of the trail network too.

All of your TRs from this trip have been great, but I think today's has the best pictures. Thanks for posting.

This has to be the most epic bike trip ever. Thanks for the excellent posts.

And yes, I am returning to Sedona next spring.
