Every day on the North Umpqua just kept getting better. I was feeling stronger too everyday. The roadies in our group grew tired of the increasing technical challenges, but I was getting into my element. The last segment of the NUT to ride was "Dread & Terror". We would start up river and finish at camp.

Quick note: Of the 3 days we were on the NUT, we did not cross paths with one other group of mountain bikers. We saw 3 groups of hikers. That's it. Pretty amazing for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If this trail was in SoCal you would be stopping every 1/2 mile to let someone by the other direction.

The day started with a quick 1.5 mile technical downhill that led to this.

This is the trail, not a drainage.

The ride finished back at camp where we enjoyed some bridge jumping.

That was it for the North Umpqua. Time to head back to Bend. For some it was time to go home, for others it was only going to get better the next day on the MacKenzie...

Wow! What a difference from SoCal at this time of year where half the trail blows away with a mild gust of wind. Sweet.
