^^^I drew a contour trail similar to your trail E on the map at the meeting. It is essential to completing loops.

That is a good point, I'm working on getting a suggested voters guide. I think it is really important that we get as many pro votes as possible and making it easy should help. All of us should get everyone we know to vote.

Will it be in a format of:
A1: Love it
A2: Hate it
etc ?

That would probably be the easiest approach. I'm hoping they have some room for comments the way they do on the paper version.

I'm thinking a completed .pdf file that someone can download, sign, provide contact info and mail in or use as a guide for the online survey. I'm not a MTRP expert or local, so have emailed the SDMBA advocacy list to get voting recommendations. My hope is to have something ready by the end of the week.

I can't remember what numbers they were, but the priorities I marked down were pretty much this:

1) Trail to bypass fire road up to Cowles Mtn from top of Big Rock
2) Trail from Pyles Peak down to bottom of Big Roch/Mesa trails

Can you imagine what a killer loop this would be?

Most of my votes were to create some loops in the main part of MTRP. I also added some written comments on the form to reinforce the importance of connecting places together an loops.

Also a vote for Deerfield for bike park.

Those were my #2 & 3, after a river crossing bridge. I also had reroutes of the North Perimeter fire road, bypass of the S. Fortuna stairs, a trail up the East side of Fortuna from the old dam, a West side Fortuna trail and Deerfield in my top 10.

In the comments I made it clear my premise was all of these trails are to be multi-use. Also, the bridge should tie in with the new South Fortuna trails (i.e. East of the present crossing).

I didn't get it in my top 10, but I like the idea of a sustainable trail down from Pyles to Mission Gorge / Golfcrest. Then you could connect over to the Fortunas area with just a little pavement riding, to get some more miles on top of the killer Cowles-Pyles-Big Rock loop.

I'll try to compile all the suggestions listed in this thread and post it into one thread, but it definitely won't be a complete list.

By whom?

I thought that was a pretty damn good idea. Voting recommendations for an advocacy group.
How much more advocating could one be?

Draw up your voting guide, publish it here. Or do not. But the bottom line, excellent idea.

It wasn't shot down - it's being debated. Two to one in your favor with a lot of silence.

What on earth could possibly be the argument against this idea?!

My Top 10 list plus 1 comment, (If you have any special request or comments that didn’t make the survey KTUA said to add a comment at the bottom of your Top ten list.)
PS: I don’t have any knowledge on the West Sycamore expansion area so I didn’t choose any for my top ten.

1 (M2) Improve Bike Park at Deerfield.

2 (M7) Construct a San Diego River Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge Crossing.

3 (C6) Add a Mesa Road to Pyles Peak Trail.

4 (C11) Add a Golf Crest to Pyles Peak Trail.

5 (F8) Reroute the S‐Curves Trail.

6 (F29) Reroute Eastern North Perimeter Trail along SR 52.

7 (C2) Provide Trail Alternative to Cowles Mountain Service Rd.

8 (F13) Add a New Old Dam to Fortuna Ridge Trail.

9 (E2) Add a New Oak Canyon to Ridgeline Trail.

10 (F6) Construct a New San Diego River Crossing to South Fortuna Trail.

Other comments: convert Barker Way Trail into a multi-use trail.

PS: I just noticed this was my 666th post :bang:

No joke right, I mean, here is the largest open space park in San Diego, which will only grow.
Here is a 20 year plan about to be inked.
Here is a chance to put in public opinion that will hopefully affect the next 20 years of cycling in this park.
Here is someone actually going to publish a guide to how people should vote (should they not have the time or knowledge to put an opinion in).

And it is being debated?

Seriously?

I noticed votes close on the 15th, which is not much time. I have absolutely no idea what to vote, and unfortunatly not a lot of time to research it to figure it out. I also contacted SDMBA today asking for a voting quide.
