I tried to figure out trends here and in another debate:

M2, C6 (A or B not clear), C11 are very popular.
F29 is also popular (I think for F29 you also need F25, F27 and F28 (some people voted for parts but not all). Multiple people voted for F6 and F13.

No real consensus on West Sycamore or East Elliott regions, but two people voted for E7, W5, and W6 each.

Post 406's comment: That makes W5 very popular as well as W2.

So . . . that's ten or so.

ocd, It is hard to pick a top 10 and I think that is why there has been some debate about offering suggestions. Also survey doesn't lump things that are dependent on each other together. Personally I just think it is important to get pro-bike trail votes in.

My $.02 for voting:
I like anything that gets new or improved trail. I have explored the W. Sycamore area a bit because it is close to my home and seems like a good blank slate for new trails. "love it" for W1-11 and to rank those I would say:
W5 - connects 2 parks
W2 - connect to trans county trail
W10 - would make nice longish loop
and the rest equal.
But I would also make some changes ( like I posted and emailed ) so I'm mailing in my survey with the map showing my suggestions.

DItto and I thank you for putting in your .02.

The voting was supposed to close this week (15th). Something needs to get into the hands of the masses . Regardless of top ten, pro trail should go out and not Thursday night, in my opinion.

So... can anyone fill out this survey or just San Diego residents?

They don't ask for contact info...so anyone, in my opinion.

Im going to repost that with the info and link in a new thread. The only people still reading this are the ones that give a rats ass which currently consists of 406, bkj, OCD and myself. Once a thread is read thru the first page or two, I would imagine most people just skip it thinking its the same ol bullshit, unless your a troll like me and have to put your grubby mittens on every damn thread.

If anyone else is reading this toss me a thanks just so we can see who is actually paying attention

As far as getting a Bike Park into the MTRP Master Plan, we should focus on the Deerfield and the potential Clairemont site.

The main issues I have with Deerfield are the cost to run pressurized water and the remoteness of the site. The cost for just the water meter is about $10,000. Running pipe from the meter to the site may trigger environmental issues.

Even though there's access roads to the Deerfield site for extraction, someone has to make the call for help. This is a very real concern of mine.

I've been to the Clairemont site and believe the site has real potential. If the City can be convinced a Bike Park will bring widespread benefits to the community, the City can make it happen.

If you can include both sites in your "Top 10" list, please do. If you can only fit in one site, then you make the call.

If we can get a Bike Park included in the "Top 10" list for MTRP, then we will have established a real need for these types of recreational facilities that can no longer be ignored by P&RD. Instead of waiting for P&RD to determine if and when they may choose to address this need, we will approach P&RD and request to form a partnership with P&RD to combine our resources to make this happen. If P&RD doesn't accept this partnership proposal, a proposal that removes the burden of funding from P&RD, we will then contact the media and address the City Council.

I've dealt with local government as a homeowner and on professional business matters, dealing with permits and pushing projects through sometimes endless amounts of BS. We're offering the City a hell of a lot, taking on a huge amount of responsibility and commitment, and for what? For our own little private playground? No. We will benefit from these types of facilities no doubt, but the benefits will affect many.

Let's get a Bike Park officially recognized as a need at MTRP and we can then take the concept citywide.

I've made the suggestion to just keep the Cowles Mountain bike park option OFF the list. We need to definitely focus more on Deerfield or Clairemont.

The Clairemont option does seem viable as the school district that owns is not opposed to /has shown interest in the idea for a bike skills park (great after-school activity). The KTU+A guy mentioned that Jeff H w/the city has already spoken with someone from the school district.

I don't know the trail system well enough to make educated "votes."

That is a good point, I'm working on getting a suggested voters guide. I think it is really important that we get as many pro votes as possible and making it easy should help. All of us should get everyone we know to vote.

My thoughts on West Sycamore. Trail ideas look good, but I would (in red):
add A to avoid a steep section of SDGE road
add B to create better loop options
could drop C or D if it would help get B
add E at the edge of the housing fire break (low environmental impact, creates loop and connects to steep paved emergency fire exit
rehab old fall line fire breaks with native vegetation
Image

I will likely mail mine in so I can include my map changes.

Looks like a few of my ideas made it into the Public Draft as recommendations. See last page of:
http://www.ktuaprojects.com/mtrp/DRAFT/ ... camore.pdf

A has already been constructed.
E is recommended
But no luck with B and they dropped C & D

Thanks to those that voted and sent in letters.
