Parts are. The top of DMM is seasonally closed (all fire roads) due to vernal pools. This means the tunnels and other tracks are legally open but accessible only from the bottom and you have to turn around at the top.

The only canyon bridges left are the Ranch House Crossing and a temp bridge at Wagon Wheel that is very wobbly. All of the main trails on the north of the canyon and most of the south are open.

Lower cobbles is closed as it is currently a river. The duck pond completely filled up and overflowed. The run off is what originally created lower cobbles anyways.

RAIN and PQ is still open?

YEP!

Gina has stated that the light rain is not enough to close it down however previous closures (listed above) are still in play. If the rain gets heavier, she may close down the trail. I will post up any changes I hear about

Any idea if they plan to put down some temporary bridges on the trans county trail between i15 & Black mtn rd? Or if they want help getting the big bridges back in place?

I will know more on Friday.

Gina shared that even the rock base the bridges were built upon were heavily degraded or outright gone. The last time water came through like this it took a long time before anything permanent was built. As far as the temp version, I will ask.

The suspension bridge at Wagon Wheel is complete and a little better than before. It looks like the southern approach is a little less aggressive this go-around. Thank you Boy Scouts!!!

Rant: Riding appendix around noon today and came upon this. Its the first left hander after you end up in the lowest part of the trail. Sprinklers were full blast into the canyon, going for more than 15min as we watched. This also started thursday my riding partner said. I guess they started watering the canyon since its been hotter? But really during the hottest part of the day and overwatering to create a steady stream of water. :End Rant

Sent an email to my contact at Pardee to see if we can't get their landscape company to look at the problem.

Thanks for posting it up.

Just heard back from the landscaper. They will be investigating the water issue on the appendix trail this upcoming week.

Thank you for reporting it. I haven't been out that way in a couple weeks.

"Found an irrigation remote control valve (station Q9) stuck on at the Cadence Isle Revegetation Slope, I turn off the valve and will get Recon to repair or replace it asap. "

Hopefully it dries up and there is not too much damage. How rutted is it?

Rutting wasn't terrible, it was just a mucky wet mess. Once it is turned off it will probably get ridden back into a decent tread as it dries. Might not hurt to re-contour it a bit.

The west end parking lot is said to be locked at sunset, which is currently about 7:30PM. I've heard a story or two in the past of cars locked inside before sunset. Have they been pretty consistent lately with regard to published sunset times?

If you there think you'll be out past dusk it may be safer to park at the ball fields at the east end. Or stop in at NOTB and park at the back of their lot.
