Yes, I will probably be out of town that week, so I hope others will be able to attend, stand and speek.

It was a packed meeting, out the door. Tfitz and Janie were there! Luckily, I was called to speak first and made the case for the council protecting our interests as a growing demographic that has money, listens and votes. I learned however that 3 minutes is not very long and though they gave me a few extra seconds I ran out of time to compete my speech. Afterwards 2 city staff came up to me. Kyle Lancaster, parks services manager talked with me for a while about CHER and Veterans. Apparently there is a proposal to open an East West path through CHER open to bikes, which is on the trails plan on the website. Regarding Veterans, Kyle seemed open to the pump track, and also making the trails open to bikes. Kyle invited us to email him with input. kyle.lancaster@carlsbadca.gov

Mike,

Thank you for attending. I wanted to make it, but was stuck in traffic and found that the Trails Plan was no longer on the Agenda as had previously been mentioned.

We as a group need to continue pushing Carlsbad and Oceanside to recognize Cycling (specifically Offroad Cycling) as a needed recreation for the local area. To do that, people need to attend meetings and talk.

Thank you Kimba.

They wanted to make that east west (Cannon Rd) connector a paved bike path back when I attended my last, special ask the city to meet and talk about trails, meeting.

We then met at Cvera and they asked me to coordinate placing bags of gravel after squashing ideas around tail narrowing, planting and erosion work.

Kyle seems to be a good guy. I hope some perspective and regime change happens with the city soon.

Thanks for the updates. How did the City Council react to the Game Wardens harassing you on City Property?

The video of Mr. Kim's attendance and speech at the recent Carlsbad City Council meeting can be found on the SDMBA facebook page. Thank you Sir for representing mountain bikers.
