Meant to post this yesterday.

The yellow trail is the Black Widow Flow trail. Can't do much until August because of Gnat Catcher nesting season but just you wait. This is gonna be fun!!!!!

Cool! Nice work!

How are they going to keep the hikers off scarface?

Plan for what you call "old social trail"?

I was tempted to reply “land mines”, but don’t want to give DFW any ideas for Calavera, as they might be eligible for free military hardware like the cops have been getting.

The new trail will be serpentine rather than close switch backs to help reduce trail cutting ala La Costa. I don't anticipate biker issues intitially but hikers are all about the direct line. Problem is, if it gets well enough established, then one biker uses it, then two, then we are right back into the mess we have now.

The scar face is some seriously F'd up errosion. The plan is a couple steps.

1 Close the line off with peeler log fence
2 Use the excess material to create steps or very large water bars to slow runoff and catch additional material.
3 Introduce native plants on the steps to help the recovery.

Part of it utilizes the social trail that is in ORANGE on the map. Not a 100 percent sure if access will remain but it is not a authorized trail AND the city is very aware of it. The map you see is one of theirs. I have received a lot of emails about it but it is beyond my control. Time will tell. As I find out more, I will share.

That is all I have for now. I am up in Sacramento this week and San Francisco next. Gonna do a crapload of catchup work at home this weekend so not much trail work from me.

It will be years of recovery. Look at the old jeep scars on glider pt.

I don't think that equipment would be in the budget but maybe we can construct a rope tow using an old 4 banger Datsun engine
