Hi Matt,

I'm still not sure which path I took. It ended going down a steep rocky fire road that terminates at the upper saddle (where the manzanita loop signs are located). That rocky downhill is much funner on a bike than on foot.

On Thursday, I tested my back after a 2 month recuperation by riding around Mission Bay. You can't beat a flat ride like that for a first ride. And there was a lot of great views in the vicinity of the south Mission Beach volleyball courts.

Sunday AM, did a simple dirt ride (PQ from the ball fields to the waterfall and back). Survived that too.

I've changed my rig to help with my infirmity. I now have a small front triangle frame bag to hold a camelbak bladder to keep the weight off my back. No more backpack while riding. It's too soon to tell if that makes any difference other than making my bike feel super heavy.

Finally got up to Black Mountain to hike all of Manzanita and Little Black loops today. Yowza there is some extremely fine single track on that newest part of Manzanita. I really like the little rocky area in the far south east corner of the loop. It's all holding up great with the recent rains too. Great work everyone!
