Guess lots of folks are riding this weekend after missing the last one because of the rain? Spend some time working on your upper body cross training for a couple hours Saturday.

Another way to register if you are coming-->SDMBA Facebook Events Page

Hope to see some of you out there to get this done.

I was up there again last Sunday and almost got blown off the mountain! Friggin windy right before the rain started.

I'm a strong maybe for Saturday but I have family coming over on Friday night for the weekend. This east side trail will finally put together a nice loop on East ridge. Looking forward to it being completed but it won't build itself

Really good day up on the hill. The trail is almost complete and one good, well attended day should connect the trails together. Everyone just did their thing and we motored along.

When it's complete I'm just going to ride over on east ridge and forget most of the other stuff other than coming home. You will be able to to loops and figure 8 laps all on tasty single track, less all the hikers for the most part.

We finished a little more than half of the trail today. the dirt is perfect for building. A couple wet spots and water flowing in a few crossings but a good day was had by all. We will be back out there next Saturday on February 4.

Black Mountain Trail Day, Feb 4

Please join us so we can offically complete the loop and get it open as soon as possible.

It is a plethora of people that are getting this done. It is not just here. I am loud and willing to toot the horn of success but there is a ton happening this year. Best part, we (all riders) are seeing lots of projects getting off the ground.

- Mission. Trails is coming around. Kirk has a dedicated crew working on E ticket ket right now. He is building a solid relationship with the park staff
- Stowe Trail has a big day on February 11. The new base commander agreed to allow access after the boundaries are clearly defined and a few trails on their side of the line rehabilitated.
-Sweetwater where Jose has received permission to install a work stand on preserve land
-Rock House has a complete reroute/rebuild on tap this year. Feds had to be involved for this to happen.
-Elfin Forrest has an entirely new trail as an alternative to the Way Up Trail granted by the ranger staff.
- Del Mar Mesa is gearing g up for a rebuild of the switchback trail. The crib wall rock has been moved to the Mesa and will help make that trail more sustainable

It is all good. Still a lot of work to do but compared to just a few years ago, we are in a much better state and there is far more cooperation from the city.

On an unrelated note, any chance we get to enjoy your company next weekend? I have beer!
