You may have seen/heard that Snow Summit added the new Going Green trail for a better riding experience for new/novice/family riders. It took a year but it got there.

The Forest Service has now accepted a petition from SS to officially sanction the skill builder lines they had at the bottom of the hill last season. I believe they had to tear them down and could not rebuild them this season.

Better yet, SS is proposing adding a NEW BLUE line (intermediate) run from the top of chair 2 down to Turtle. This is desperately needed to alleviate the traffic issues and provide a line that is not as challenging for less accomplished riders.

Please take 5 minutes and follow the link to the Forest Service Comments page. You don't need to say much other than you are in support of adding the trails to the Snow Summit network. Remember to keep your comments positive. No need to bash the Forest Service here. The more support for new trails they get, the better.

US Forrest Service - Snow Summit Trail Expansion Comments Comment section is on the right.

It was valid a few days ago. Let me see if they moved it or took it down prematurely.

But we are talking federal government and it is a holiday weekend. Maybe their tech takes paid time off too?

UPDATE

The entire projects page is F'd up. Here is a link that you can see all of the local projects but none of them are currently live.
projects page

Right now, it is at the bottom of page two listed as "Big Bear Mountain Resort Improvements".

Feel free to email David Kotlarski at dkotlarski@fs.fed.us since their links don't work.

HAHAHAHA

Forest Service links are working again. It looks like they actually shut down the server for the holiday weekend. Guess they can't afford to pay the electricity bill over the weekend.

Bump! Last call!

Forest service fessed up and admitted they had problems with their site over the weekend. Everything is supposed to be fixed so go in and make your comments if you have not already done so. Take 5 minutes. Support the new intermediate trails and jump lines at Snow Summit.
