A and B are done.

We came within 40 yards of the finish point on C today. We knocked out most of the trail and were just too tired to complete it this day.

Next weekend (assuming rain Thursday) will give us the push to knock out the last section. 10 yards of stumping, 40 yards of tread, and the removal of the eye pokers all along the line. So for now, here are some previews...

Weather, rather lack of it, has been a big sticking point. We need rain or we are stuck. The east facing slopes are too dry to do effective building. Grrr....

Great job by you and the crew. When I was there the prior weekend I walked to the top of C and it looked like a hella-lotta stumps still had to be dug out.

Couple of Qs:

- Until E is done, can we still ride between the endpoints of C on the old ridge trail?

- Is the trail going over the peak of Little Black still open until D is complete?

From the 2011 trail plan map it looks like both old trails will be decommissioned.

Yes. the old line will remain. It will create a loop until we get the other side done. It may still be a year out due to lack of moisture.

Yes. I believe that it will remain open indefinitely since that is the access road the rangers use to get out to the junction and since it is the only access to the top of Little Black Mountain.

Still up in the air at this point. I will bring it up with Ranger Ed to see what the end game is.

Sorry for not having definitive answers but as soon as I can get the info, I will post it up.

3/6/2016 update. It is raining tonight!!!!

It was a good day of rain preparation today. We created lenses, reverse grades, and temporary water bars to control the erosion on the unfinished Little Black Mountain trail. We had the boys from Pacific Beach Middle School Mountain Bike team (where was this when I was in school?), guys from Bike Mag, several new folks wanting to get involved and the usual assortment of dedicated volunteers.

Please respect the trail closures. We are only a couple weeks out from officially opening the next two sections. If you see these signs,

please don't use the trails just yet. All in good time, young grasshopper.

There will finally be some quality ST trails that you can loop into any ride that you desire. I have some planned where you can ride, rinse, and repeat
