The guy's response to HP2's statement totally diffused what could have been a heated DICK conversation.

My bet is they are going to grade it down and put in water bars. Whatever, nature does its thing over time.

Well sure, the guy on a gravel bike doesn’t mind…

The adobe clay was bad right here at the usual place yesterday. I was enjoying looking at the clouds so much I spaced out and rode right into it. The rest of this route was fine. Ran into Dirtsurfer at Stonehenge, also on a solo mission, so we joined up for the return ride. If you aren’t asleep at the wheel like me you can bypass it via the drainage ditch detour.

I just ran into a rider who said the fishing game are at the pad no trucks just standing there stopping people. They let him go but told him not to come back.

I saw on Facebook that SDMBA is going
to take over maintenance at Calavera.
Said they are going to work with the city
of Carlsbad.

Anyone know more?

It is interesting news given the history. I like the "new" SDMBA and am hopeful for some well thought out trail work opportunities and better relationships with the city to benefit all dirttreaders. The city needs some help in how they maintain the trails on their parcel.

The City needs a METRIC TON of help in how they maintain the trails they manage.

“Facebook is for grandparents and racists”

I forget if I read it somewhere here or on FB, but it was said that SDMBA has submitted a bid for the maintenance at Lake Calavera Preserve, but so has the contractor who’s been doing such a *remarkable* job.

To unknown guy with an axe: WTF! That logover was easy and fun. The gully right after it is the hard part!

To unknown guy with a cordless drill: Haha! That’s awesome and I applaud your stubbornness. Thank you.

PS: That poison oak!! Glad I wore long pants on the trails today.

What-the-f*ckery was abounding lately. I guess the axe guy is as stubborn as the drill guy. We found the straps pried out and the log chunk rolled away. Damn that oak is heavy. I needed Rick’s help to roll it back on Saturday.

Here’s the singletrack with the rocks that Matt has replaced a number of times, and me too. I gave up long ago on that one since there’s an opening any bike, no matter how fat the tires, can roll through. But apparently not enough for someone so they removed rocks to make a go-around to the left — you can see the tracks. I put the rocks back yesterday. Probably be gone this weekend.

I can be kinda stubborn too, even if I’m mostly a zen kinda guy.

[Oh, and yesterday I exited Serpentine to the main trail, checked for hikers, turned on the bear bell, started down the steep section and yelled “coming down”…I got to the narrow blind part before the little bridge and there was a hiker with headphones on coming up the middle of the trail with a blank expression, watching me do one of my longest trackstands ever while she figured it out before making room for us to pass each other. Clueless. But to be fair, every other hiker was polite and friendly as I pulled over for some and some stepped aside for me. I don’t let these things ruin a good day ]

Guilty....................

I rolled that log last week and
allegedly jacked it up, allegedly
I went back and replaced it, it needs more
reinforcement.

We also replaced "Mathews" rock.
It needs to be reinforced too
