Went on a group ride out in Prescott today and there were more Pivot's than anything else in my group. That new 5.5 they just released is very sexy!!

Looks like a bit of recent court happenings, good news.

Quote:
April 25, 2017. In the case, Bentley-Wing Property W, LLC (“Bentley”) vs. West Development, Inc. et al (“West”), the Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One, State of California, ruled 3-0 that WEST BREACHED THE CONTRACT; the judgment of the Superior Court is reversed and the matter is remanded for further proceedings. The Appellate Court ruling is a rebuke of the West-O’Brien-Klein team’s misguided assertion that as Manager of Bent-West/Cantarini LLC West holds virtually unlimited powers. The breach of contract ruling against West enables Bentley to pursue claims for breach of fiduciary & breach of good faith and fair dealings.

Interesting news, good to have some help from legal. Didn't West allow permits to lapse as well?

I spoke with Warren Wong of CDFG last March here at work. Seems like a cool guy and liked my black 2017 Intense Tracer. He atleast did not bust us but another State agency did.

Effectively, the lawsuits took so long that everything has expired.

Biggest group I’ve seen set out en masse since the DT Debauchery several years ago. The CNLM ranger was observing them but didn’t seem to mind. Someone said it was a school league, and I think they stuck to the legal side, so good for them!

Someone posted this on MTBR today:

“Was out riding today at Calaveras and CDFW had a large crew at Calaveras. Putting up new signs coming down the volcano, boarding up the cave, and 2 rangers out on the trails "warning" riders of the $1k fine..... Such a joke tax paying dollars go to this.... What a waste of time.”

^^^ No sign of rangers, but I didn’t go near the volcano (as usual for me) and did my best to avoid the adobe mud found on the west side. I did see a relatively new boundary sign post with “foot traffic only” about a hundred yards east of that little jump at the fence gap by the eukies. I also saw that some idiot drove his Jeep over the curb at Skyhaven and screwed around down in the mud by the trailhead. No real harm done since the rangers drive trucks there too.

Thanks Dan.

I called the City of Carlsbad
Parks department and had a chat
with Kasha. She said the volcano
is owned by Fish and Game. Carlsbad
has nothing to do with the land. I told
her that it is in the city's jurisdiction and
that the city need to do something. Hundreds
of people hike the volcano weekly, how
are they going to enforce the closure?????

When I moved to Carlsbad in 1999, I would run into the occasional moto at the top of the volcano but they shut that down somehow.

I think moto’s at Calavera ran out of room
then.
Also, the police would chase moto’s and ticket.
I got my only ticket on moto there.
There not going to ticket hikers or mtb’s.

Yet...............
