They are awfully tasty when dipped in wasabi and washed down with hidden beers

Mark my words, the trails will keep disappearing. It is great to fight for the trails, but please do not forget to ride the trails you are fighting for, legal or not. Someday you won't be able to fight for them because it will be someones swimming pool, or patio.

I totally agree with the whole, "ride it till they pave it" mentality. However, there's more to be done than just ride what's left, until the machine wins. Criticizing the people that try to do something about the ever shrinking number of riding opportunities seems shortsided, IMO.

From Rich....

It is so sad that an iconic place like La Costa will be tarnished. How lame will it be to ride on asphalt to get from the Boys Scout kiosk to NASCAR or to Switchbacks. Or cross a road to get to Whiptail. Of course orange fences will go up and close off access during construction. This is not going to go over well.
What do the masses that have been squeezed out of every available spot going to do? Everyone will go to Calavera? Or choose the wonderful trails that carlsbad has built alongside the roads or behind houses.
Or maybe we can go to San Marcos and ride the what used to be Discovery Hills but since the city got to it it now just blows.
No no we can ride the DG trails they built with the 18% grades in them and try to not catch your handle bars on the peeler log fences. Wait I heard the Director of San Diego Open Space say MTRP HAS 54 miles of "trail". Problem solved!!! There are plenty of opportunities in Sun Diego. Choke choke.

La Costa was one of the last really fun bike rides left that is legal.
There isn't one other spot in Sun Diego that compares. All the good stuff within our area in any quantity, especially quality is illegal.
It is so sad such a healthy thing as a real trail is so hard to come by and the trail community is so under served by our local governments. I don't have time on a daily basis to drive around looking for a trail to ride. I don't want to burn more fossil fuel to do what I used to do right out my backyard?

Oh I forgot the city governments want us to conserve water. After all you wouldn't want the building permits to dry up.

Ok my heart rate is coming down. Enough negative rant. But I am going to flush twice from now on or maybe even three times.

Rich

Big Clyde,

I was upset having read the posts above yours. I took your post to be a pot shot at those (individuals and organizations) that try to work within the 'system'. If that was not your intent, I apologize.

This really sucks!

I know where I'll be riding tonight.

Wow, that would be a cool view, plus you could bike right out of the house.
I could build a duplicate of my Canyon Ferry house, but add a work shop for my bikes.

Plus, with 6 acres I could level out a space to fly my RC helicopters.

I'm calling this realtor today. Wonder if the owner would be interested in a swap for some property in Montana. I could probably get a trade done withe the family trust.

THIS… would be cool … our very own DT trail head… not to worry secure parking would be cheap.

^^Tolerance is wearing thin..

It's just not possible that you're really that much of a jackass is it? The trolling is tired, and the stuff you you puff your chest out about is small taters.

But hell, if you really da man. Step on up and buy this little hunk o' paradise. You'd be close enough for me to do some RC skeet shootin' in between poaching your property.

Chair lift...

I'm thinking more like a gondola with AC for the summer and heat for the winter...

Might even pave it all and put in a parking lot then sell scenic gondola rides....
