Some of you may have noticed new "No Trespassing" signs in the back-40 area, it looks like after some long court battles etc, both the Cantarini Ranch and Holly Springs areas will start getting developed. That will take out basically everything West of the proposed Cannon extension. They're trying to start selling homes as soon as 2015 after a ton of grading etc. The seniors center starts construction this Fall as the College estension is thru CEQA challenges. The Cannon reach 4A extension though unfunded is back on the Prop C list. Though no trails thru the area both the Mundana and Kato properties are also up for country estate development, another 270 acres gone.

Ride it now!

Paging Preserve Calavera.... Anybody have a photo of the endangered species that are at the center of the controversy over the Cannon Road extension? My cell phone has a decent camera......

Thanks for the heads up Steve.

The Dos Colinas developer is paying for the College extension, I'll bet that the Cannon road extension gets funded the same way, no allocation of Prop C funds will be needed. The stub for Cannon was left in at Sage HS.

This thread reminded me of the song Manhattan Countryside by the Bottle Rockets. Couldn't find the album version but came across an acoustic one.

Think that one was always been there just knocked down, but over by the ranchita, there's still a new one up on the two track going towards the horse stables(violators will be prosecuted, blah, blah , blah). Over the last month or so the guy(s) living in the ranchita have been kicked out, the chickens and everything else gone as well, and the windmill taken down some months ago(never hear the generator anymore either). In addition, all of the bee hives in both locations (NE of the ranchita and down towards the high school) have been removed in the last few weeks, just prior to their prime season. In the past, the number has varied in either location but this is the first time all have been gone at both places that I've seen.

I (and a bunch of Viasat riders) ride thru the stables for the lunch ride and everyone there is cool with it as long as you don't scare their horses, so apparently no problem trespassing with them.

2 more brand new signs, one at the end of College down off the dirt ramp into equestrian area, and this one over by the high school.
