How about making Teote uphill only? It would be a lot safer that way and most riders prefer going down 3B anyway. Take the downhill time off Strava for safety concerns.

It was not manzanita, but sumac he was cutting. I don't know the difference.

We are going to put Joyce onto him and let her take care of it. For those who don't know, she's the self-appointed ranger for that area.

Chuck, what time of the day were you out there? I rode through there around 12:45ish and the bush in your third pic was completely hacked down to nubs, maybe 6 inches all the way through. You could actually see the trail on the otherside of the bush from where you took your pic.

Actually, it was Sunday, not Saturday (I got confused by the 3-day weekend). I started my ride about noon but it was about 12:30 when I took the pictures. Like I said, the pictures don't really do it justice - looks much worse in person.

I see, well I still wouldn't touch it with you guys mentioning rangers. Even though I have no clue where this trail is.

I almost replied when this thread first started and I must say that I am now glad that I stepped back and withheld my comments- I will say it is nice to see an apology for calling out the 'DH riders'.

That being said, I too ride these trails and I am glad to see that there are people out there who appreciate them as much as I do. We obviously need to tread lightly in order to keep what little access we have.

That's not a bad idea but it'll only work if everyone buys in and from the behavior I've seen out there, there's not a snowball's chance that'll happen.

i used to prefer coming down 3b but last time i was there, a year or more ago, it was so stravatized that it became the easier climb (always my preference) and L1 the more interesting and fun descent. i'd be more than happy to go with whatever flow the regulars prefer. instituting that may be difficult tho, so long as characters like canaan continue to ride there.

some pretty pictures chuck, even with the alterations. you have me missing that place.

^^^ As much as it pains me to say it, I agree with jSatch. With the new Dog Leg Left section at the top of 3B, I like riding the small loop counter-clockwise more than clockwise. I have to say though I have nearly gotten DESTROYED in a head-on more than once by some one trying to set a KOM on the 3B descent. Since the kinks and rocks have been for the most part removed from 3B by Stravatizers, that trail has become a bad accident waiting to happen.

I say post pics of the tool and his bike. That way, at the trailhead, you see him you call him out. Simple as that. Hold him accountable within the mtb community.

Huge difference!!.Sumac has the same effect as poison oak. It might be even worse. I got sumac on my eyelid early last year and it lead to other systemic health problems and kept me off the bike. It was aweful

In fact, i found it horrifying that poison oak, poison ivy (east coast) and sumac oils, which cause the reaction, can last on any surface with full potency for at least 5 YEARS!!!

Keep it clean peeps

He also uses the handle "chicken noodle soup", or did anyways. He was on the 'other site' using that same name I think.

Try googling his name and things like "psycho date"
or try different occupations -think what would scum do for a living?

I think that since this is our there on the internet, free for anyone, it's not going to get me in trouble for sharing. . . . unless anyone knows better.
