I am new here! :hello:

I was thinking about all the news about trail closures (great idea!!) and started to think the Land Management had missed a golden oppertunity. I was hoping there was a way the Management could retoactivly close the "Oregon Trail". This way the west coast could be rehabilatated and restored to it's natural beauty. I say we build a time machine, send the Land Management back in time to close the Oregon Trail!!

IMHO - Anise poll title. Total lack of respect of ones Country is childish. While at the very lest it shows a utter lack of understanding of not only the definition Socialism but of governments in general. A Country has a responsibility to care for its all Citizens. Even the downtrodden.
I do not agree with all programs, policies and or their implementation. I do believe one should not equate my Country with former governments that "Socialism" was part of their names.
To me this smacks of disrespectful to the good men and women who have served & died for this good Country the past 200 plus years. Et al.
My son currently in basic training, is our family's fourth continuous generations of military service. So ya.

If greed and corruption was not the prevailing mantra, our Country nor the World would not be in its current doldrums. Again IMHO.
PS I will not engage in the forthcoming prattle. Instead I will be out riding.

Besides, Kicking the People out so the Land can be kept for Developers is straight up Capitalism, with a bit of Fascist flavor.

There really is no United Socialist States of America, unless that is, you are employed by the government in a cradle-to-grave profession.

And I got nothing against that: I have nothing against a certain part of my Country having Socialized programs, and a certain part having free market programs. They CAN be mixed, and work. One example of where a bit more Socialism would be a good thing, IMO, lies behind the major reason for personal bankruptcy in the USA aside from mortgage defaults.

I like where your going with the time machine thing, but insted of retroactive closures, I think we should have proactive trail openings. I fact I think we should start with the PCT. If Romney can retroactively retire from Bain Capital with full pay. Why can't I proactively open some trails for no pay?
