Yes Im back from lurking, but seriously.

I dont drive nearly as far to ride as I used to.

What price of gas will break Californians to really start carpooling.

For the most part I've been riding to MTRP from my house since early last year. 8 miles of road to the Grasslands and then the fun starts. Figured $5 in gas or 16 round trip miles of improved fitness. I still drive to other places though.

We try to carpool to farther trails like Noble, Vail, etc.

I'd probably drive to mammoth more often but it costs me half of my paycheck to get there.... Gas kills me!

Had plans to ride Noble with a few friends today, plans fell through late Fri. Mainly given the cost of gas and a little not feeling like going solo, I'll ride somewhere local today. Sitting here watching the end of the first climbing stage of the Giro, I think I'll play roadie today and ride from my front door. So $4.29/gallon.

Not much since most of my rides are local but I find myself thinking about it when driving over half an hour

I made a pact (with myself) not to drive ONE mile more than I need to.
Soooooo...that means I ride the road more often than I used to.
We also package trips out of town. I might get dropped off at Sycamore Canyon while she shops in Santee, we then meet up for the trip home.
The gallons of fuel we use have been cut way down.
Mothers Day with my son in Tierrasanta? Isn't that near MTRP?
;)

Riding PQ from my house seems to make a lot of sense....not making any longer trips due to gas cost!

I have been riding to my rides instead of driving, so really I am hoping tire prices come down, then I will be golden.

^^ Same for me. But my ride to the entrance to the "Grasslands" is 4.4 miles. 6.5 to Mast & Medina for a "ride with the Marines"
