It's OK, because CDFW can do whatever they want on the land to enforce the law....... if illegal Mtn Bikers weren't out there, they wouldn't need to be out there chasing them.

So yes, those are all due to bikers. :?

It’s the new wheel/tire size (275/55R20) fad! Tires so big and plush one can run negative psi.

The hypocrisy is not lost on anyone...

Went to the Pad yesterday. I was with my kids so just fire roads to and from the pad. The erosion from the past few rains was evident even up there... I can only image what all the "hiking" trails look like....

What I did see that HORRIFIED ME was Drone usage which is also expressly prohibited by the CDFW. Shock!
Shame!

lol... that entire place is a joke.

HAHA, I should have clarified, CDFW's current "management plan" is a joke.

Took a few minutes to film an update as far as what we've been doing in regards to Calavera.

I'll be posting a link to a Zoom call for Q/A soon.

Thanks for the update.
Where is the city of Carlsbad
in this. This problem is here
partly because of them, they
gave the land up. They have
the “volcano” as a gem of Carlsbad,
even though it is technically illegal
to hike. No way they are going to give
that up.
We should force CDFG to enforce that!

And CDFG should be held accountable
for the laws they are breaking.
Cutting eucalyptus, grading a new road,
habitat and trail destruction, and natcatcher
harassment!

Thanks for all you do Matthew!

Nice work Mathew - thanks. You may want to put this up on the SoCal sub-forum of MTBR too.

We are gathering info and building a "case". CDFW knows they can't enforce against hiking or the public backlash would be enormous. They haven't said as much, but that's my take. It's easy to put blame on cyclists, since that is illegal, and per them cyclists make all the illegal trails.

“the law is the law”..................

Isn’t that what they said about
mountain biking?
Their regulations say hiking on
authorized trails, the volcano is not!

Yes, this is exactly what they say, but they conveniently ignore that issue. That doesn't fit the agenda and they know the public outrage would change everything. It's Ok to single out one group because they can still get general public support for that agenda.
