See! Your not safe from tornadoes anywhere. One hit Poway back in 2001. Tore up three patio covers right down the street from where I lived there, right in craptasticyler's backyard. Thanks for the link and the tip about Lawrence. Have to check that out, would it be calling 'mountain biking' in Kansas though? :)

Yep. Bolted to the slab and built like a Fort Knox safe. It looks pretty safe, not sure it will stand up to a big tornado though. When I get my own place the first addition will be a below ground shelter.

A good addition would be a 2" thick Lexan window so you can watch the rest of the house disappear around you....or check out the view as you're flying thru the air...altho with no bottom in it, I guess you might not be stayin' inside if it rips loose!
