Hope my VTRs don't get too redundant, but I've found it super fun to edit little clips after a ride! Here's taking VDM down at La Costa, which is usually my preferred way to climb and hit the other trails.

Nice video -- I really enjoyed the soundtrack, too.

Cool video and nice riding. If you filmed it yesterday, I might have have seen you climbing up Switchback as I was heading down.

Dude, you need to put an "MTB Locos" sticker on your helmet! 8)

Thanks! I started mounting it on the side of my helmet. It's a little uncomfortable but I like the angle better than on top... can see more of the cockpit and rider input. Haven't look in a mirror with that boat anchor on the side of my head, but from the looks I got from hikers the other weekend I'm guessing it's pretty silly looking

Yeah, I just picked up a Contour HD 1080P last weekend.

I mounted it on the side of my helmet but the "view" is different than yours that's why I asked. My guess is it's the difference in the angel of the lens. You can't see the side of my helmet in the video.

Yours is also much more steady, but as a couple of people pointed out to me; it was likely because I was sitting on the saddle that caused all the jitters I had.

I did order a new vented helmet mount though, that may help as well.

I recently got my gopro hd and knew nothing about the countour... once I learned about it I was like, damn maybe I should've researched this a little  I'm happy with my gopro though, the fisheye look gets a little old but it does capture a cool perspective. Let me know when you have some footage up, I'm real curious to checkout the countour's angle.

My vid titled "Perfect day at La Costa", which is down below somewhere, has a similar angle as yours (I'm using a ContourHD). I actually like the fisheye perspective because you can capture the view of the cockpit and rider input. You can't do that on the ContourHD without pointing the camera downward and losing the forward-looking "rider" perspective.

That's the perfect comparison, same trail different cams!

Looks like there's definitely a tradeoff. The GoPro, gets the rider more in the pic but makes the trail look flat. The Contour gives a great perspective of the trail, but kinda leaves the rider out.

I have some stuff I did out at Carrizo last weekend. I'll put some up next week when I get back. Unless I get something this weekend too.
