Got a new/old frame this week and rode Big Rock tonight. Replaced the IH 7point with an 08 Glory 1:

Running out of sunlight but still managed to capture a decent vid going down Big Rock:

Ok, silly question:

Where is this trail??? That looks like a freakin' blast!

PM me if it's a "secret"...

It's part of Cowles Mt where bikes are allowed (conditional). You can go fast but you have to be careful cuz hikers are a plenty. I go there twice a week, up Mesa then down Big Rock. Here's another vid taken early this year:

I go there after work around 6. I can give you a tour.

Beat me to it.

What days do you usually go? I like riding there. Do you usually push up or ride up?

Grab a bear bell from the mailbox at the bottom of Big Rock near the park. Look for a blue sign. That way the hikers can hear you coming and will get out the way. Increases your flow and the hikers appreciate the warning.

Chip, I push my 42lbs bike up Mesa. I know you goat it up, just wait for me at the top. Wednesday and Thu are the days I usually go.

I checked the other side of the mountain (not Navajo and glofcrest). I don't see any sign saying bikes are prohibited but the trail is gnarly as fu&*k!

I usually grab two bells, strapped on the bars and seatpost and usually yields especially to kids and seniors.

I can't make it all the way up yet, still some HAB for me. My bike is 38ish lbs so it's getting up there.

I should be able to hit that up with you next week, probably Wednesday.

One lap up and back down is just under 4 miles.
