Good thing we have this new forum, because I just finished building my "new" commuter bike. Thanks to Lito for helping me out with this. This has been a long drawn out process.

Started with seeing a bike sticking out of neighbors trash can almost two years ago. It is a 1986 cromoly lugged Nishiki Sport Frame. Salvaged what I could and started digging through everyone’s spare parts bin.

Here is what I came out with, total cost probably $150

Powder Coated Frame, color picked by daughter
Dura Ace rear derailleur
Ultegra Brake/Shifter levers
Ultegra Cassette
Cannondale Brakes
Selle Italia Saddle
Bontrager CX Tires
Rolf Wheel set (painted white for some reason)
Original crankset running in 1x9

So far this bike is a blast to ride, now I need to find another project

rolfs, dura ace, and ultegra on your commuter. it's almost too good to leave locked up. is your rear brake supposed to mount like that? a rack and/or basket and you are good to go!

Very cool. Rolf wheels look great. Red tape....good contrast but maybe to loud for such a classy ride?

I took the toe-clip pedals off my 91 Bridgestone and put clipless Ritchey's (old, same vintage on).

Beauty, but then again I'm a sucker for lugged steel frames.

oh yes, time to start looking. Actually the color scheme came together by accident. I had no intention to have a patriotic theme, it just turned out that way.
