I biked to work today. It was a little chilly leaving the house at 7 am and if I knew the location of my arm warmers, would have put them on. Passed several people in PQ walking their dogs. Passed one other biker, he was also traveling west. Looks like the rangers are up to shenanigans again, can't they do anything right? Plan to check out the "improvements" to Cobbles trail on the way home if I have time. [/sweet blog]

unknown. I don't gps or cycle computer. Normally good at guessing, figure 10 miles from Scripps ranch to top of Lopez canyon. ~500 ft elevation gain.

Will start down Lopez at 5. Say Wagon wheel @ 515? If that is too early let me know and I can work later.

No, that is fine. 5:15 is a good time. I will leave UTC about 15-20 minutes prior to that and should arrive by 5:15. I will be wearing a dyed-pink and purple ostrich feather headress....should not miss me

406 actually brought his Cannondale HT!?!!? and spanked my ass.....er, I mean he was no longer burdened by 30 lbs of Sultan dead weight and the INFERIOR DW link and he was flying.

Checked the sweet trailwork on Cobbles and it was fantastic!!!! All those annoying pebbles were moved to the side, all the bumps and hucks removed, and a nice horse trough of loose dirt and sand made the climb and descent below the pond a real treat. Luckily my bike has ICT so it was NOOOO problem

Seriously, Brian deserves serious props for trotting out the Cannondale....very cool bike.

As always, nice chasing you.

Cobbles is not as bad as I was expecting, but is not fun like it used to be. Everything below the pond is basically a horse path. The PQ rangers I have met are nice people, but don't seem to understand anything about trails.

Excellent ride in this morning. Good to get away from life for an hour...now I just need to start getting some work done, so I can be riding home sooner.

That's awesome that you can commute to work through PQ. I've been bike commuting a lot lately, but it's all road. Still a really nice way to start and end the work day though, particularly when I take the scenic route home through Torrey Pines & La Jolla.

Would love to Bike to work but Chula Vista to Mira Mesa is really not ideal for riding to work.
