Just wanted to give all of you a shout out for allowing me to ride vicariously through all your posts over the past few months.

I had been having some back trouble earlier this year and ended up getting back surgery last Feb (diskectomy and laminotomy at L4/L5). The doctor gave me 6 months to get back in the dirt, and I'm listening to him. It was too painful an experience and too long a recovery to risk repeating this.

I've been given the all-clear to get back on the pavement, so I put some slicks on the Titus ML (which looks really weird), and I've been riding the 56 bike path and the path at Lake Miramar for my recovery and recuperation. I'm hoping that I can get back to somewhere near my previous fitness level so when I'm not starting at level zero when I get back on the trails.

Hopefully I can meet up with some of you some rides this fall. I'm not going to be looking for big drops and tons of technical stuff, but I'd like to get back into the swing of things.

In the meantime, the treader reports have been great, and I've got some epics already mapped out in my head. Thanks for keeping me sane during 6 months of downtime!
