Thanks Wirk, my ankle is all better now. But my lower back is F'd up now. Stretching, and taking it easy, but I can't believe I have been off the bike this long....

One 30' inverted knack-knack off the rockpile on Shotgun in Mammoth and... well, no. 20 minutes into the first ride of the day and OTB.

Came around a turn, which required a left to right transfer, with a rut in the middle(where I am laying)......grabbed the brakes.....back wheel broke loose....went into 2 wheel drift.......pedal/shoe/foot caught the ground and rolled it up and over. Stupid crash to say the least.

Only time it really hurt was the couple of times I put my foot down to stop another fall.

When we got to the sand wash......we took the bail out to the Indian Trading Post(hiking only trail).

But still ended up being 15 miles of pedaling to get back to the car.

Ha-ha...I know exactly where that is. It's a super fast section that naturally leads you to the line on the left - which dead ends abruptly into a massive ditch. The line to take is on the right, but you have to act fast.

That one's sent me into lock up mode a couple times.

16 weeks of recovery time......was back riding the bike around the neighborhood at about week 7. Couldn't put my cycling shoe back on til about week 12 due to swelling.

Nothing major, just a little color:
Image
HPIM0901 by Ron_in_SD, on Flickr

Popping out of PQ, trying to get up onto the sidewalk to head behind NOTB and the Post office to go back up to the other side. Caught the front wheel sideways on the ledge between dirt and concrete and keeled over into the guard rail. The guard rail doesn't have much give. I felt like a linebacker hit me. had to sit for about ten minutes before the light headedness went away.
