It's killing me being off my bike. Been a long time. My shoulder is getting better though. I though about heading down PQ for a easy ride but then thought better of it. Hopefully it won't be too much longer and be able to ride. |

Hike, take pictures, enjoy what you got. I'd trade your shoulder for my inner ear. BTW, anybody know a good ENT doc? |

Hey DWill, you have my sympathies. I'm just getting back into riding after over a year of dealing with an elbow injury that just refused to heal and kept me off my bike (amongst other things). I think you're doing the correct thing by playing it smart and waiting until you're ready before riding, and then easing back into it. In my (rather extensive) injury experience, you tend to go through several phases after an injury: 1. Denial 2. Anger 3. Bargaining 4. Depression 5. Acceptance Oh wait... those are the five stages of dying... my bad. Anyway... here are the phases that most people I know go through: 1) Denial + Anger + Depression. Life sucks... not even beer helps. 2) Acceptance. Being hurt becomes the "new normal." On the plus side, during this phase you often find something else you can do and it's an opportunity to discover something new. Shove that silver lining up my what you say? 3) Excitement. This is right before you finally return. Characterized by a sudden uptick in forum posts, YouTube views (have you seen the Brandon Semenuk Raw 100 vids?), and the purchase of totally unnecessary bike upgrades. Happy healing! Mike |

Mike Yeah, I hoping it won't be too much longer.. I won't have much time anyway now, we open football camp tomorrow. About the only time I'll have during the season is early Saturday morning on weeks we have home games and early Sunday morning before we go in to grade Saturdays game and start game prep for the week. My bike is ready though... |

Follow up appointment with the ortho Thursday. Hoping he'll let me at least ride some fire roads. If so ll be making frequent PQ loops to the waterfall and back from the ball fields and maybe some out and backs in Spring canyon from Mast. I might even attempt a Laguna loop around the lake from the campground Fingers crossed. |

No luck, no riding for at least 3-4 weeks minimum (couple weeks since the ortho now) and like not until after the next surgery when the metal come out |

That really stinks. Are you able to do some hiking, at least? Good luck. At least the weather will be excellent again when you're ready to ride. |
