I got a text from him saying he was checking into the hospital with something wrong on Tuesday around noon. He said the doctors think it was a ruptured appendix and were scheduling emergency surgery for Tuesday night. Don't know much more than that right now. I believe he is in Scripps at Torrey Pines.

Love him or hate him, he is responsible for a lot of good work around town. Send him well wishes and quick healing.

I will post more as I find out.

Damn . . . he's had a bad luck streak with health issues. Next time you talk to him, give him my best.

Just got of the phone with him. Problem resolved. Nothing a sharp knife, a few yards of twine, and a couple industrial grade staples couldn't fix. He will in the hospital for a few more days but should make a full recovery.

He said thank you for the wishes and if any of you plan on visiting "tell them to go f--- themselves". Classic Rod.

I've never met Rod in person, but that right there makes me think he must be a person worth knowing. Healing vibes to you Rod.

Who's he kidding about people visiting him in the hospital? Officer Dangle in a hospital gown? - no thank you.

So are you going to change the new trail name to Ruptured Appendix?

FWIW I still like Paul's suggestion of Colostomy

Get out there and spin some road miles, Rod. Just look both ways before you cross an intersection.
