Found this on "empty beer".
Tom is an awesome guy, sucks
to hear this. I've known him for
years through different shops.
I know a few around here have
been asking about him.

Feel better soon Tom.

I saw it too. I posted something here but accidentally deleted it when I went to edit it. Good thing to spread the word!

Good post Harley. Just thinking of doing the same thing since so many north county folks knew him
A couple of bucks might go a long way for him and the family

Bike Bling posted on FB about this in January -- I just checked back and a bike ride for Tom may be planned. I'll keep an eye out for updates.

Here's Tom in better days (photo from that FB post):

I remember the first time I met Tom, it was in the mid-nineties-ish at Allen's Family Bike Shop. I knew right away what a great resource of knowledge and an absolutely wonderful personality was standing in front of me.
I have followed and frequented the shops he's wrenched at as many many others have since that day.
We (the sloth clan) hope everything turns out well as he is in our wishes and thoughts.

Thanks, Harley, but since I've been banned 3 times from EB, I can't even read the post.
That's the only time in months I regret not being able to go to rube-landia.com.
