Damn, 9 weeks seems like a short recovery for a neck fracture! I still feel like i am healing. I have been challenging myself because I don't want the fear to creep in. I had to ride at Calavera as soon as I was able to ride to get over that fear. La Costa is dangerous but its also a good cardio workout on the climb. I think that first ride helped me get back into shape as I really had to work hard. Good luck with your rehab! Keep riding!

Thanks...the fracture definitely healed faster than expected which meant I could go ride unrestricted but it may take up to a year to get back to anywhere near 100% as far as full range of movement. On the plus side, I have ZERO pain but my neck gets sore from holding me neck up after about 15 miles. I also hit the big 5-0 over the holiday so making a few more rest stops may be in my future anyway.

Trance...I know what you mean about cardio. That's why I like riding the Hodges all the way out/up to RSF. Trying to get in a decent enough shape to survive the Palm Canyon Epic on the 24th.
