Had a great day of riding. Now I'm spending some time in the ER at Mammoth.

GF had a OTB experience…

Hope it's not too serious. Just because she's broken, don't sell her and get the carbon version. Hopefully she will heal up quickly good as new!

Just saw the doc. Nothing serious, scraped up nose, black eye and badly bruised chin.
Completely destroyed her Fox Flux. The helmet did its job.

She says she's getting a full face now.

being replaced with a TLD D3. She's going to look pretty funny riding PQ in it. But at least she'll be riding. Looking at how badly her face is scraped up I understand how she feels.

She was just going to fast on her entry level HT Raliegh, grabbed a handfull of front brake about the same instant she was dropping off a little rock in the trail all combined with standing pretty much straight up on her bike (she wouldn't listen when I told her to drop the seat a little and at least get a little more bend in her knees) and over she went.

Luckily no major damage just a scraped face, a bit of a head ache sore knock and shoulders and lot of bruises.

From now on she's riding in front of me. That way she won't be trying to keep up, not that I'm all that fast I'm not. But she only rides a couple times a month and that's mostly at PQ on the main trails and once in a while up at BLT.

Good luck on her recovery. I know how it feels Im in recovery right now myself. Sounds like you need to upgrade her ride!

Be prepared for the bill from Mammoth. My wife's overnight there last year was $8K!

Glad she is alright!
