On Superbowl Sunday, Sue and I decided we would get a fun little ride in with a few friends.

All was going fine until about halfway through the ride, Sue had Kabob'd herself onto the local shrubbery.

She was at the back of the pack sweeping to make sure us loafers and stragglers wouldnt get left behind, so when we were waiting at an intersection and she and another rider didnt arrive in awhile we figured someone had a flat or other mechanical.

So we pedalled back up the hill a bit and we find Sue and our new friend hanging out, I said "awe shit" because I thought she had a flat or a broken chain, but when Sue exclaimed that she was remaining calm I realized it was something else and I took a closer look to see what was going on. What i saw was a branch skewered through Sue's lower leg above her ankle.

So, we all figured we needed to come up with an action plan.
I suggested to Sue she can ride me out "piggyback" to which she objected, but I persuaded her into complying.

Our friends helped us get our bikes and gear out, and also helped scout out our course of exit.

We came across another one of our riding friends on our way out and he helped as well.

We made it outta the woods and to civilization where our friends met us with my truck which we all carefully loaded Sue into and off to the hospital we went.

Im sure by now you would like to see some pics, well, they would be of better quality but some asshat walked off with our camera which had the larger high rez images at the hospital, but I had snapped off a few with the phone...luckily.
















I need to thank ya'll for helping me get Sue outta there and for helping with the bikes and gear. Sorry for taking so long to get this loaded and written up.
