I'll have plenty of time for the next couple weeks to read every review and search every website for prices. And my knees will now match eachother, well kinda.

I'm looking for pads that feel 'comfortable' pedaling in all day and stay where they are supposed to be.

I use 661 evo they are the same as the Kyle Straits but more money. I would say both are good but in the heat you feel them.

I've been using the 661 Kyle Straights, but have been hearing good things about the Troy Lee knee guards, so I'll probably try those out next now that my Straights are giving up the ghost (after 3 years).

I've had the 661 Kyle Straits and while they were comfortable, they started to slide down on me after a while.

I changed to Kali knee pads and I absolutely love them! Have not had ANY issue with them sliding down at all.

Hope that helps!

Anyone have suggestions on knee pads that strap on (ie you don't have to take your shoes off to put them on?)

The TLD look nice and I think you can mate them with a full length hard shell too that goes on over top.

I use Kyle Straits and really like them, however, the straps have begun to come apart at the stitching. I don't use them that much so I am surprised that they are coming apart.

A buddy uses THE knee and elbow pads and SWEARS by them. I have tried them on and they are incredibly comfortable, breathable and they are very slick looking. They seem almost impossible to get due to demand but that is what I will be buying when I need to replace mine.

I have a slightly used THE industries elbow + knee/shin set somewhere. Guess I'll be digging through my closet this weekend. Stay tuned for a used body armor sale....

What happen Nick?

I don't typically wear pads but when i do i wear the Fox Launch knee/shin guards and those things are bulky. I've heard lots of good things about the 661 Evo knee pads...

I went otb and opened a little hole in my knee like the one Baja had in his elbow not to long ago. Only two stitches but, it is in a place where I cannot bend my knee for a couple weeks. Knee pads will forever be a part of riding for me. I'm tired of knee injuries.

Thanks for all the advice on pads. I'm leaning towards a pair of T.H.E. 2piece pads. They are machine wash and they have a hard shell for rock protection. The 661 have too many reviews saying they slide and/or wear out easy.
