probably the only trail in SD that hasnt completely washed away...going up Ellie Ln to Iron Mt main trail, summit, and back down.

not a fast pace....not a slow pace.....not a medium pace....

yes, i know...it will be damp out there.....so this ride is NOT recommended for whinny bitches who dont want to get any mudd splatters on their fancy white riding jersey.

Canaan, you still in for this?

so, I can't make it as my daughter is singing at church tomorrow, but I was wondering what the total elevation this ride is and difficulty level?

I wonder if we can devise some kind of rating system for the rides? too much trouble? for a noob like me, I would have no idea if I should even attempt this ride...

Thanks,
Chris, who doesn't own even 1 white jersey... :D

You'll notice that I am only .05% bad-ass . . . .

Thanks for the tour. It was nice to meet Jerome and it was great luck to meet up with gabrielkeating on the trail. That's not a ride I would do every day, but it's good (or should I say "bad-ass"?) to test one's chops every so often. Speaking of chops, you, Gabe, and Jerome put on a demonstration.

I would have like to seen Steve roll the Iron Meatball (as the one hiker called it) but I guess I'll have to settle for the pre-ride discussion with him regarding the trail whose name cannot be spoken.

Great day -- I'm still muddy and little bloody, but the bike is nice and clean.

Whats up. So i think this trail is about a thousand feet gain and about 6-9or10 miles. depending on your rout. straight up and back is 6 miles. Its pretty technical on the upper half and not a super screamer, hickers and switchbacks add an extra technicality. the lower straight away is a nice fast finish. Its really fun with some fantastic views, a san diego classic forsure, a "must" for lovers of rocks.

I completely forgot about that -- someone is going to look at where you face-planted and wonder how a horse left one giant hoof print.

P.S. That was bad-ass.
