Endo - I thought you were riding Cowles tonight? I'll join you at either place, I just want to ride. I got the Enduro tonight, so I'll be a little faster on the climbs (but not much).

Let me know where...

I'd go, and trust me no one is slower than me...

But, I just switched the tires on my bike for a ride that isn't going to happen in a place that doesn't exist this weekend and the tires that are on there now will kill me if ride them in Spring....

Plus, the last paycheck I got was in Dec. 1994 so I don't even have the money to join STFU...

I will see your turtles pace and raise a tub of molasses. Theres only one rider on DT that I know of slower than me and thats Rush.... but only cause he takes so many smoke breaks

We can start our own group. STFU = Slow Treaders Fatty Union

Everyone is welcome, fast and slow alike, but I do have to put an end to the misuse of my STFU brand -- "STFU" has been trademarked and all of these silly alternate uses are seriously denigrating its value.

No serious; I yanked the Nevagals this morning cause in the even I come across any metal grating or anything I don't want it jerking my tires around or ripping off any of the little knobs.

I now have some WTB Exiwolf 2.3's on it. All you have to is lean the bike just a little and those things let loose.

On another note. When I took the front tire off my bike today I noticed two spokes that are sticking up past the holes inside the rim. They don't stick through the rim tape, but they are little bumps just under it.

I think it's the two spokes that were replaced when my wheel got straightened out after my crash in Spring that sent me to the ER.

Anyway, does anyone know if I can use a dremal and grind them down at least a flush with the rim. Or should I have them replace, or just not worry about it...

[end hijack]

You may have good reasons not to ride tonight, but that's not one of them. I used to run 2.1" Kenda SB8s out there without a problem. I now run 2.1" Maxxis Crossmarks, which look similar to the Exiwolf, and they work great -- this is xc, not Noble.

Man, I wish I could make this ride. I had jury duty today and just barely got out of serving on a jury. I was 3rd in the batters box (after the 12 in the jury box) and both the prosecutor and public defender were using all of their peremptory challenges. So I made it into the jury box on the 3rd total challenge. But on the 12th peremptory challenge, I was dismissed! I was so relieved, just like when you barely get to the bathroom before the dam breaks. I knew it was a matter of time before the public defender got rid of me based upon my experience interning for the parole department.

I'm so pooped. The dude next to me smelled and took up the arm rest. The judge claimed it would be a 5 day trial even though the charges were 2 counts of obstruction and there were only 3 witnesses.

Hopefully I can make the next STFU ride next week.

Looks like there will probably be 5 of us (my neighbor who's a non-DT'er is likely riding). I don't know where Endo got the impression that I'm fast or a goat, but this ride is just a fun after-work affair. Pace will accomodate all riders. Two climbs; two descents.

Dammit! Now I am just missing everything. If this is happening every Thursday (Weekly Ride Posting, duh!) then I am going to start brining my bike to work on Thursdays. Since I am right over the hill in Kearny Mesa, I should be all over this. Next week, ITS ON!!!

Just back from the inaugural STFU group ride, and I think it went well. A black-tailed hare crept up on us but did not attack, and post-ride beers were provided by Endo, who has been appointed as the Minister of Inebriation. Thanks for the ride to Rob240z, MtbGurlSD, and Endo -- hope to ride with all of you again soon. You guys owe me $.02 apiece, but we can square up next time I see you.
