Looking to improve your technical climbing skills? Got some climbing skills and willing to share? Cowles Mountain offers some great terrain for a short intense end of the day ride. I'm sure this ride will evolve over time but for now lets meet at the Big Rock trail head off Mesa Road in Santee. This is just south of Chett Harritt Elementary school. Wheels rolling at 5:45 pm.

This week's goal is Cowles summit with as few dabs as possible.

The route this week; Spin up the road to the Mesa trail, grab a bear bell and up, up, up.

This ride needs a co-leader so if anyone is interested.......

I will be on a black Titus Moto-lite driving a gray crew cab Chevy Silverado.

No one left behind.

I can't make it this Thursday, but Thursday the 13th is looking good. I'll post/pm closer to the actual date to see what's going on. Looking forward to riding Cowles and/or Pyles for the first time . . . .

Yeah, I'm not sure why either -- I kind of like climbing. There's just so much fun stuff in those canyons close by (whose names we do not speak) that I usually ride there in the evenings. I guess I've just been waiting for someone to show me around Cowles/Pyles.

mountain bike bill showed me around cowles. Although I ended up on a damn coyote trail doing a brush safari. Cowles is more fun, you just have to pay to play.

If theres no interest in the next couple of weeks maybe the ride can move over to the other side of MTRP.

Do NOT move this ride! Cowles deserves a place on the schedule.

Great evening at Cowles Mountain. Just a few hikers and the trail was in great shape. Flowers are in full bloom.

It's still green up there -- one more reason to do this ride! Last night Spring looked like a tinder box, and it's no more than a few miles away.

How about wheels rollin' at 5:30pm? Is that too early? Since it was agroup of one last week, I would say that again Cowles is our goal with as few dabs as possible. Depending on the group we can head over to Pyles if there is enough will and daylight.

Meet at the Big Rock trail head off Mesa Road in Santee. This is just south of Chett Harritt Elementary school.

This is a great afternnoon ride. Short, sweet and steep!

Cheers

John
