Decided to go from Flat Bar to Drop Bar on my road bike. Just need to get used to it now though, it feels less maneuverable than when I had the flat bars. I guess I will just get a Cheapo flat bar bike for commuting now.

Will be reinstalling my Zero Offset seatpost since I feel too stretched out right now.

feels like its harder to go around students or something. I ride my bike on campus a lot at UCSD. Just riding around the street, the turns are wider.

isn't it a big no-no to put a flat bar on a road bike? kinda like having reflectors and the spoke thingy on your MTB?

It was not much different than these bikes:

Plus it was fun for commuting and dodging thousands of Students at the University.

I'm sure you have broken some unwritten rule with those bikes too.

Sort of like riding an ellsworth is breaking an unwritten mtb rule

The main reason I sold my road bike is that as infrequently as I rode it, I just couldn't get used to the bars. I should've thought converting the bars before I sold it.

I'm considering a flat bar road bike now. This one seems like a good deal--for as much as I'll be riding it: http://www.bikesale.com/scott-speedster ... -2010.aspx

Looking for a cheapie flat bar road bike now since I normally park my bike on a rack outside.

having your hands on the brake hoods IMO is much more natural that on a flat bar, the only time I put my hand on the bar itslef it when I am in the drops or climbing.

^^^ Yeah, what EMFC said. Maybe the flat bars were wider, but you'll end up liking road bars once you get used to them. Having several different positions and angles is good on a road bike.

Looking at the before and after, seems moving the seat back is the problem, more nut crunchage. But you got that probably solved by going to the original configuration.

Saved to favorites, that bike with those bars is my next investment. Great looking machine.

I am selling the carbon flat bar right now. When I did a ride from San Diego to San Francisco, I used a flat bar road bike.
This was my cockpit before going to drops:
