Very sorry to see this.

I ride from east of here to west of here routinely. I will not take Friars. It costs me a lot of time but Friars is terrible for cyclists, even if it is a "bike route". Thing sget better near the west end and the golf course but that area is a sprint of death.

Make the most of every day, tell your family and friend you love and appreciate them, you never know when it may be your last.

The account in today's U-T says the cyclist was heading eastbound on Friars, just west of Rancho Mission Road and that he was struck as he was moving to the right after passing the off-ramp from 15 North. His riding partner made it safely, but he did not. Much harder for me to understand how the accident happened there and how the driver did not have some culpability.
